Try www.wewillbuyyourcar.com make sure he is sat down when the value is displayed. It may be upto 1k out but near enough. Also ring round a couple of stealers (if you can find any with open cheque books) and see what bids you get.

Complete guess based on looking at the AUC market a lot recently and then subtracting a few thou' for their profits... and then a few thousand more because they don't want the thing...

£17k-18k?

Well I just paid less than that for an 07 330i coupe with 3000 miles on it and more toys than a lesbian porn shoot.

From a main dealer.

So yes, cloud cuckoo land.

I sold my 56 plate 325 coupe with almost ALL the toys (inc. sat nav, bluetooth etc etc) in September for £22k, so in todays economic climate I would say even £20k is very ambitious!

Another problem, other than the recession is that BMW have swamped the market with "ex-management" cars (1 of which I bought), with high spec, low mileage but with big discounts, so private sellers are having to try and sell into a market where supply is much higher than demand.

It's not a sellers market right now!

At the BCA auction last week there were 57/07 3 series coupes going through and selling at £15k to £18k. He'd be better off keeping it for a while yet.
