As per the subject really. Do the rear seats fold flat in the 6 series either as standard or an optional extra?

Best regards

According to the specs it has "easy access system" same as the 3 series coupe, so I would say yes as standard

No, they don't.
You can get the ski (throughloader system) instead of the first aid packaging that is between the two 'bucket' seats.

You know what Legion, you may be talking nonsense!
It's been awhile since I had a Six, but I once bought a big LCD and I moved it from Curry's to my house. And for the life of me, I can't remember if they (the seats) dropped down or not! They definitely don't go totally flat, that's for sure, but I have hazy recollection that they do drop.....Put it this way....I got the TV home hehe

Sorry!

I looked at a 6 recently (ended up with a 330 coupe) but the seats are the same. There is a latch in the boot to release the rear seats and they drop down. These are standard fit in Switzerland - sorry I don't know UK specs. The seats dont go flat but enough to load longish items, skiis etc. There is an option for a ski hatch also which is situated behind the rear centre arm rest.

East access is the fact that the front seats not only fold but lift of their mounts and move forward to allow "east access" to the rear

Roger, for the life of me I can't remember now.
I started off all confident that the seats did not, then thought of a time when I swear I did drop them.
God, the OP has me questioning my sanity......
I've swung back the other way, all i remember is that they don't, as in the coupe, you had the speakers right behind the headrests don't you? And I can't remember the mechanism to let them fold down...

Probably don't in a convertible, but do in a coupe?

OK thanks chaps, I'll take it as a no. I'm going to have a look at a couple in the coming weeks so will check, just in case it's an option.

Sorry I thought that was refering to the "Load Thru System" which you have on the 3 series and I think 1 series.

Odd it's not available on the 6 coupe. Perhaps BMW think it's 6 series owners don't have the need to lug stuff about.

wink

That's that! Both Roger and myself (present and past 645Ci owners) know - not think - that they don't.

Anyway the boot is pretty big on it's own. Hope you find something that suits, as it's a marvellous car.

Mine is on PCP to make the burden a little more predictablesmile

The ski hatch option is pretty rare - my car does not have it. As has been said though the boot it VERY big for this type of car, but the depth of the opening restricts it a little. I plass bass and get my speaker cab/amplifier and guitar easily in the back.

The 6 series back seats are far too 'sculpted' to be able to fold properly, which is probably why it was not an option.
