E36 Headlight conversions

Whats the general view on some of the aftermarket "Angel eye" headlight conversions? I've seen s few E36's with them but they seem to look a bit tacky. Whats the recommended headlight upgrade on PH?

There are 2 types, a complete unit, which are the ones that look cheap like they are from Halfords bargain bin, and the other way is to fit CCFL rings into your original headlight.

these are very bright, and a xenon like colour too, so the can often make the headlight bulbs look very yellow.

You can see pretty much all of them here, the ones marked CCFL are the rings you can install yourself, listed at 240 here, as they come prefitted into some actual BMW headlights
