I'm looking to fit an LSD to my E36 track car. There's a guy breaking a 325i saloon reg number K655ABV - can anyone do a check to find out wether this car was actually fitted with an LSD as standard? Would a 100k mile one still work as it should?

many thanks for your help.

Wouldn't that be a bit harsh to drive on the road then?

It certainly won't have had an LSD as standard - the only E36s which did were the M3 and the earliest of the 328i Sport coupes.

How early are we talking on the 328i Sports? I notice no adverts seem to state whether they have the LSD or TC fitted?

Is it literally only the first couple made or all pre 97?

Rubbish, I've had THREE E36 325 saloons with factory fitted LSDs...even more common than on the 328s...

Factory options, perhaps...? I said 'as standard' rolleyes So there's no way of knowing whether this particular 325i had one.

ETA: no idea when the cut-off was for 328i Sports, sorry.

Are wheels still connected to the diff Rich? If so try spinning one and note which way the other goes. More boggo 325s had LSDs than later 328s that's for sure but they're still reasonably rare.
EVO managed to get one with their E36 325 for the Grand Challenge

Just a thought, if you can still make out the writing on the top of the casing see if it has an s by the 3.15, or if there is an S on the diff tag
