Hi BMW 318 M Sport 2006,

Has anyone experianced repeated handling faults (BMW unable to resolve under warranty)

Car appears to oversteer and slide at low speeds the fault is unpredictable and worse in the wet (the driver is an experienced BMW driver and proffesional HGV driver)

The car is standard and running on 18" bridestone potenza run flats good tread (6mm all round).

Any one else had this problem???

Easy, change the run flats, no ifs or buts, do it. Changed mine yesterday to Falkens 452(£300/Camskill), different car altogether.

I would not say a change to runflats makes the car completely different. It just improves the ride somewhat. Less skittish under hard cornering over bumpy surfaces also.

Not sure what to suggest to the OP. Go to an independant get them to give you there verdict. Then if necessary go back to the dealer for any warranty repairs, they could not diagnose.

However much I didnt like them, if the characteristics aren't the same as other identical cars the OP has driven, I don't think this can be laid at the door of the good old runflat

Hi, it's exactly the same issue as my 320D on Bridgestone runflats, if you refer to my "getting rid of runflats" thread it should strike a chord. The only othe thing I had checked (and rectified) was rear toe. Anyway, I'm off to buy some Falken 452's...
