Anyone with experience of Northover Cars in Kent?
Discussion
Hi all,
New to the forum and looking for some help.
I'm currently looking for an e90 330i or 325i (2005 plate) and so far haven't come across that many in the spec I'm looking for.
I've seen a possible candidate on the Northover Cars website. They claim to be BMW and Merc "specialists" and the cars they stock appear to be clean with good spec and FSH etc. Does anyone on here have experience of buying from them? Kent is a 5 hour journey for me and I don't want to have a wasted journey if it turns out the car isn't a good 'un.
I've also been searching on the usual sites - PistonHeads, Autotrader, Ebay etc, as well as BMW approved. Any other recommendations?
I'm thinking that there should be more cars around come next month with the new reg coming out and fleet cars being sold etc, but many might hang on longer in the current economic climate. What do you reckon?
Cheers.

Ask specific qeustions about the car. Get a feel for the people you are dealing with, trust your instinct and make a judgement.
If its quite a specific car you are looking for, dont miss it for the sake of a journey. With the currant lake of stock around, I dont predict prices coming down much further for the forseeable future.
I dont know this particular dealer.
I bought a car from Northover last year (330d SE Touring). Found them to be fine. Gave a fair p/ex and is willing to do a deal also the car was in mint condition. Came with a years MOT and 1 years (external) warranty. He does specialise in high end BMW's and Merc's.
My car was cheaper than any dealer and most private sales - this may have been as he's based on the Kent coast which is miles from anywhere?
Overall it was a pleasant hassle free experience.

Thanks KMC. I don't mind the journey at all as long as it doesn't turn out to be a complete waste of effort! Do you think the current lack of used stock will improve when the new reg comes out, or are people just not going to buy new for a while?
Cheers mikey-r, good to hear from someone who has actually bought from them and had a good experience. As you say, the pricing looks competitive - even compared to private sales - and the 12 months MOT and 1 year warranty is a bonus.

They are just down the road from where I live. Never actually purchased one but had a look round a few times. All the cars I have seen have been immaculate - they always seem well presented and most are high spec. Prices seem reasonable too. They have been there for as long as I can remember. Its quite a small site but theres usually a good selection. Definately worth a visit I would say if you find something you like on the website.
