thinking of swapping me e30 for e28, good idea or bad?
Discussion
You'd probably be going from rusty to rustier! Only had a close look at one E28, a stripped out M535i and I was shocked at how rusty it was; boot floor, footwells etc all had holes in them - may have just been a bad one, but I'd suggest looking VERY carefully if you do go for one. Very cool cars.
I took a black 1985 E28 528i in px, and I can honestly say it was one of the most fun cars I have ever had the pleasure of piloting, but perhaps not for the right reasons. It had what I assume was original suspension and bushes, and just legal metric tyres, so to say it was hairy would be a complete understatement. In the damp it was like a greased hippo on an ice rink, but I kind of like that sort of thing. Proper retro cool too....

^^^What he said! Here are three links to one I did last year. The first link is "Before"; the second "During"....and the last the finished car.
The fourth and last link is to another E28 I did last year. Both cars cost about £5000 is restoration costs and that was with me doing much of the 'donkey work' myself and constantly trying to find as many of the necessary parts at good prices on Ebay etc. The Silver one even started out as a very good car and yet it still cost nearly that in the end.
Personally, I'd think very carefully before buying another E28!
Anyway..here are the links:
