Hey all,

Just bought the above motor, really pleased with it so far. It's done 61000mls, but it only has service stamped up to 35000mls, it looks like it's going to need some attention. The dash display says the oil is due in 100mls, but i find it hard to believe that it didn't need replaced long before this time after doing 25000mls before i bought it. Any suggestions of what else i should ask the garage to look at when i book it in for the oil change?. Any comments gratefully recieved.

Cheers.

At that mileage and that history, I'd be booking it in for an Inspection 2 service which is the most comprehensive to ensure you get everything up to date.

On my car it runs:
Oil Service
Inspection 1
Oil Service
Inspections 2
And then repeat.

Yeah, think I'm going to do that. My next question is if i do go for the inspection 2, will the dealer reset all the relevent displays on the dash, to tally up with the inspection 2 i'm about to do, or will i have to do my own maths for when they are next due. Either way i think i think i'll go ahead with the ispection 2, for my own peace of mind if nothing else, any idea what an independant specialist would charge roughly?

Yup, the dealer should reset the OBC to count down to the next oil service.

You'll probably be looking at about £300 for a good Indy to do this, less if you provide your own oil.

Cheers mate, cleared that up for me. I'm going to go with your suggestion, quite relieved that they reset the dash console.

Thanks for advice.
