My DSC/Traction warning light is on with exclamation mark.

Any ideas what the problem could be. Best/worsed case scenarios.

Thanks

At a guess
- best case, broken wire on abs sensor
- worst case, one of the computers

Take it to someone who can diagnose it before you get all excited.

No, its the warning on the OBD. Big exclamation mark after it means there's some kind of problem.

Hopefully not serious.

you should put your location in your profile, because people like me have diagnostics.

Looking on the baby bmw site this is a very common and potentially expensive problem. £1.2 k for a new ECU ... ouch unless you can get BMW to pay for it as a goodwill gesture.

Getting it diagnosed tomorrow through my local garage first.

Normally one of the speed sensors but there is an outside chance of a control unit...but thats rare and way less than £1.2 k close to £500, nothing on the system should cost that unless replacing the control unit with DSC hydro unit...never heard of that needed to be done

Been quoted £1,400 to fix it.

Plus charged £80 for the diagnostic only.

Depending on the response from BMW my fight may start here.

What have they said is wrong with it for the repair to be £1,400?

Is it worth seeing what sort of cost a 2nd hand ECU is?

must be worth a look rather than paying £1400 for a new one.

if youve got the last 7 of ur chassis i can check on that price for u.

The ECU is a separate and can be replaced on its own.

Full price is over £1.7k including fitting according to dealer.

BMW covering costs as a goodwill gesture. My cost is less than 200 so not bad.
