HEEEELLLLPPPP!

The driver's seat in my E46 330d sport has started to squeak whenever going over a bumpy surface, (which means all the time on british roads...)

Everything seems tight and there is nothing obvious rubbing, but does anyone have a suggested fix for the problem before i resort to my solution and get away from the pain by removing both of my ears with a rusty meat clever!

cheers,

James

Is the back squeaking or the seat cushion. Tried lubricating any visible rails, hinges etc?

i am not sure, i can't get it to do it on demand!

I have tried some WD40 on a bit of the runner, but it seemed to make no difference at all. I just wondered if this was a common fault / issue with the E46...

No squeaking seats but bloody annoying seat belt clip rattles!
When the seat belt is clipped in the belt buckle rattles inside the clip (appears to be the red release button not holding the clip tighly). Happens on Driver and Passenger side frown

I had that in a cab. Is yours a coupe? seats are the same-ish. The back bit comes off, screws on the underside when tilted forward, then push it upwards, sort of hooks on. Carefully spray wd40 on anything that moves, seat release mainly, recliner bit. Best done with seat out as it stinks the car out. Then flip the seat over (if remoced) and repeat on runners and raisers. You may even find the pen lid for your parker, nestling close to a bit of random plastic, causing said rattle.

OK not a seat but bloody annoying , somehow a 1p piece has manged to slip down the front of the windscreen & is trapped but mobile! It can be seen partly covering the Vin number at the bottom of the screen ,when you go round a quick corner it trundle's along the front of the car , be happy with your squeaky seat ,at least you maybe able to fix it Lol.

Would a powerful magnetic screwdriver help get it out?

Double sided tape guided down by something thin would be my solution to this issue.
