Hi all,

quick question re: gearbox on my 535d - is it 'adaptive' ie does it learn how I am using car and shift accordingly?

Have been commuting to work in it (mainly urban crawl) and I noticed the car seems to hold onto gears more when
going uphill, and the same when going downhill, I guess for engine braking. Or am I totally wrong and my gearbox
needs looking at?

Thanks in advance,

B

The ECU adapts to your style of driving.

I can't remember the way to reset it, someone will be along here shortly to explain - although disconnecting the battery for a while should do it.

Ignition on no. 2 (ie all the dash lights on but engine not started) press and hold the throttle for around 45 seconds..... should do the trick.
