Hi Guys.

I currently own and love my BMW 535D MSport, but the time has come to get rid.
I also have a TVR Tamora which only comes out on sunny days and is merely a play-thing.

Before the 535D, I owned an X5 4.6is which was converted to LPG and I loved it, and in all fairness, regretted replacing it with the 535D.

My dilema is as follows:
I had previously made my mind up to buy another 4.6is, which would leave me a few grand left over to put towards the sale of the Tamora and get an Merc SL55 for a play-thing. However, I've now come across the 645ci and although it doesn't tick the box of sitting nice and high, I just love the way it looks. Its just stunning.

My dilema is simply do I go for the 645 (and not have the money left over to trade the TVR up for a Merc SL55), or do I go for X5 which allows me to go for the Merc aswell?

All together, I have about £35k in the pot so:
Option 1 would be split £18k on a 645ci and £17k on the TVR
Option 2 would be £12k on the X5 and £23k on an SL55.

I know all about the X5 4.6is but know nothing about the 645ci - what mpg would I get in the real world (I never believe manufacturers figures), what can I expect in terms of depreciation and just how good a car is the 645ci? is it better than the X5?
scratchchin

Any opinions welcome.
Cheers,

16mpg worst -> 25mpg best (from real current experience, not guesswork or hearsay). Can't really compare an SUV and a coupe/GT - you will need to have a go in one.
I got mine on a PCP deal and put the cash away so I don't have to fret about it's future value - there is no way of telling what will happen to taxes/fuel etc in a couple of years and the replacement model is due.

I've got a friend with a nice facelift e39 M5 looking to upgrade to a 535d. Would you be interested?
