I have an E92 330D SE.

It has 17" wheels

I have bought some M Sport 18" MV3 8" front and 8.5" Rear.

I will put non run flat tyres on in 225/40/18 and 255/35/18 rear.

I don't like the run flats (continental I think) due to the ride, grip, tram lining and noise.

What conventional tyres have people used and can recommend to cure my issues.

Thanks in advance.

Regards
Andrew

Try Falken 452's. Go to http://www.falkentyres.co.uk/default.asp?cookieche... They are half the price of Michelin/Continental & last longer. You will have to compromise on the sizes available though...

Vredestein’s Ultrac Sessanta

These have done well in a lot of the tyre tests recently...

255's on an 8.5" rim seem a little excessive to me. Ive got a 123d M Sport with the same size wheels as your MV3s and stock sizes for those are 215/40-18 and 245/35-18. Ive recently changed to 225/40 and 235/40 FK452s and its a great improvement, not due to the size, just due to ditching runflats.

In your case the 235/40 would give you a similar overall diamter to the 255/35 and will probably be a lot cheaper. Have you checked what tyres would give you the same/similar diameter to your current wheels though, as you might find you need a different size to keep it within acceptable limits (generally 2.5% is advised).

Pretty shocking under braking for me.

Excellent tyres, you must wait for them to get worn in real good, otherwise you will be all over the place as I found.
