my dad just picked up his new M3 on monday, and phoned me up this morning, as he was going into work (handsfree before any coppers are on here...!) and said here....listen to this....

he just absolutely nailed it and i could here this lovely V8 down the phone biggrin can't wait to go in in on saturday smile

he said it's like....really really quick! since getting it monday he's averaged around 17mpg...wonder if he keeps booting it hehe

laughlaugh not sure if the petrol bills will come to hurt him. he had a 3.5litre v6 merc before so can't imagine the bmw will be that much worse! i will tell him to put his foot down a little more and drive it like it should be driven!

it was you i saw going up oakmount road in the E39 M5!!!!! you should have seen the huge smile on my face as i heard this awesome V8 soundtrack storming up the hill! excellent!

When you say "new" I hope you don't mean brand new? Otherwise get your dad to TREAT IT WITH A BIT OF MECHANICAL SYMPATHY. That running in warning sticker in the corner of the windscreen is there for a reason.

1,200 miles of restraint THEN give it the beans. wink

nah he got it from BMW as an approved used with just shy of 6,000miles on the clock. list price was 57k he got it for 41k smile it's all been run in properly and had it's run in service biggrin

i guess you can't be sure. you would imagine that the person who spent 57k on his car would treat it well for the run-in wouldn't you.

well, he came up late last night as a surprise and.....omfg is it quick!!! the noise is just astonishing too!! the interior at night is so nicely lit and i just love it frown it feels much more solid and better put together than his last merc did. the way it gets to 1.4 leptons is just silly hehe
