I have a broken speaker in my M3. I want to swap it out and there is a good video on ebay detailing how to remove the interior trim.

However the car on the video does not have an airbag in the door. Are there any specific considerations when removing the door?

I'm hoping not as I expect the airbag is mounted to the actual frame rather than the doorcard. Any advice would be appreciated though.

Cheers

Bet safe that a face full of air bag, disconnect the battery, negative terminal, and leave it disconnected for 20 minutes before commencing removal of the door card.

The airbag is mounted on the door, not the card. Absolutely no problem with removing the card, only 5 screws hold it in place and then some pop clips along the bottom.

very easy done mine last sunday, take the triangle off that covers the inside of the wing mirror first, (black plastic) take out 5x torx bolts, 3 in the arm rest, 1 behind door handle, 1 behind airbag sign/cover cap, then just pull, and it will pop off

Get yourself a handful of clips from the dealer before. You will almost certainly break at least one or two in the process, and for the sake of a couple quid it's better to put it back properly and securely first time.
You can buy them on ebay but it is cheaper to pop into your dealer who should have them on the shelf. Part number ends 500 if that helps.
