E46 Diff & Gearbox Oil

Apologies if there is a thread going about on this already.

I'm wanting to do the gearbox and diff oils in my E46 its at about 86k and the gearbox is a little "notchy". Is there a particular brand that people prefer? I'm looking at gearbox and diff (not sure if this is suitable because its not M3/LSD?)

I've also heard of people using Redline fluids. Your suggestions appreciated.
