Where are all the cars

We are looking for a 118d se 2004 / 2005. Have £7k ish in cash but all the cars seem to have vanished from sale.
I am also looking for a B3 3.3 E46 Alpina with sensible miles around 2002, either touring or 4 door and again, Cash waiting, but they have all vanished or gone up to stupid money.
What is going on with used car prices?
