mp3's on CD player

I've got an '07 Z4 which (according to the manual) has an mp3 compatible CD player in the dash.

However, i've burnt a CD with about 5 albums worth of music on it tonight and it doesn't work - the display says CD CHECK for too long for me to wait (about 5 mins).

I've tried burning a couple of CD's with both a Folder (Artist)\Folder (Album)\Song structure, and just a Folder (Album)\Song structure, and neither worked.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I think that the Z4 and E87 stereos are broadly the same. This is posted on babybmw, I've not tried it myself though http://www.babybmw.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=29&am...

Thanks for that. I did pretty much follow all of the steps given on that guide, so still not sure whats going on.

I've not read that link, but previous experience is that the files all need to be in the root, and it won't work if there's DRM on the files.
