Couple of pic's

I've had my '97 523i SE for a year now. I only bought it as i had a back Op and needed an auto.
I planned to keep it for little while then maybe move onto something else.
Anyway with a year gone i can honestly say i've had no reason to change..
There's no real value in the car, but with just 87,000 miles & FBMWSH i'm happy to keep it.
It's my 1st BMW and i really am impressed with how well built & how well a 12 year old car can drive.
My next car..? Another E39 please, this time.. sport spec.
When i bought it:

Just thought i'd add some clear indicators/lights & wheels to freshen the look.

I agree with not changing it too soon, looks like a modern car now. Where did you get those wheels and the boot spoiler from, was it pre painted? I want one for my E39. Lovely car, pretty much how mine should look when I'm finished with it
I purchased the wheel & tyre combo from the inde dealer i purchased the car from. I needed new tyres on my old turbines, and i remembered the dealer did the wheel/tyre option. They are replicas but the quality is superb, no balance issues, no probs in the 2000 miles i've done with them on.
The spoiler i purchased (pre-painted) from ebay. It came from Japan of all places. Again excellent quality and (fairly) simple to fit. 2 people advised though as when it sticks..it sticks!
I have left my 523i badge on, i have no desire to try & pass it off as something it isn't. I just wanted to remove the '90s yellow indicators, and nice wheels..particularly 18" parallels just look so good.
I think it freshens the look nicely. As i say i'm more than happy to kep it for longer as it drives wonderfully (probably shouldn't have said that) and i'm fairly certain i will replace with another E39 but probably a 530 sport.

Thanks chaps.
Some have said about lowering etc.. but the way i see it is i have made my 523i a bit more up to date. It's not a sport model and if i start going down the path of suspension.. well, where does it end. Probably easier to sell & purchase a sport.
It does everything i ask, with superb comfort. It would be nice to have more 'grunt' but then.. i have a TVR for that.
I don't know why i didn't try a BMW years ago, particularly the E39.. def a fan now.

I want the boot lip spoiler and M5 grill because they are cheap enough, and I might get new wheels like yours if I can get them at a good price, although I really like the standard Style 33 Turbines that I have on it. The way I see it the Angel Eyes and rear Celis lights with clear indicators make it look so much better anyway, it doesn't really need anything else. It has been suggested I get sports bumpers but I'm looking at well over £1000 for both the front and back fitted and painted, and I don't think it is a necessary upgrade. A few subtle changes is all these pre facelift cars need to make them look a lot nicer, and I think you have done well.
