Morning all, I was wondering if anybody else with an E34 has suffered the same problem as myself.

Basically over the past few days on the drive into work the interior light has been intermittently going on and off and the 'door open' warning sign and bong going off on the dashboard. I've checked to make sure the doors are all closed properly but still it occurs.

I expect it will be a faulty door switch, but I tend to find that when these play up the light doesn't go on, it seems to be doing the opposite here!

Any advice will be welcome.

very possible it's the sensor. on my (albeit rather a lot older car) E21, the brake pad warning sensor is shot, but instead of never warning me, it sometimes comes on saying that the pad is worn, even though i've just replaced them (normally happens after going over a bump or something of the like!)

my guess would first be to check the sensor out somehow!

Bob - how's your battery? If struggling, it has been known to throw up strange warnings on the dash.

Also check & clean all your bulb fittings. Huff did this on his 540 and that cleared up his warnings too smile

Cheers,

Steve

Cheers for the replies chaps.

I haven't had time to do a thorough inspection but I will check and clean all the connections over the weekend.

As for my battery, I think it's OK, but I'll get a multimeter onto it and see how it is charging and storing power, I didn't thinl of checking that.
