Which BMW for £1500-£2000?
Discussion
Looking for some sort of daily snotter, hence the fairly meagre budget. I'm looking for something RWD, which is why i've come hunting to the BMW forums.
What do you lot think is best for this type of budget? I've looked at everything from the e36 328i to e38 7 series (possibly a 740i) and still can't decide whats going to the best for this budget..... maybe an e34 540i?

Forgot to mention it's a 2000 W-reg. newish dunlop sports. I think she's looking for circa £2k.
I guess it depends what you want, a compact is a VERY different drive to a 740...
Do you want smooth motorway cruiser, b-road blaster or town shopper? I think a 5 sits somewhere in the middle..

E36 328i are cheap/easy for bits - fairly quick and good selection of cars and not too bad on fuel. What do you lot think is best for this type of budget? Autocar voted it the best all-rounder 3-series some 3 years back
