Bought a rather nice 540 tourer yesterday
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/973476.htm
but it it is missing a few options. The one I will miss the most is PDC, had this on a previous E39 and it is a god send. I would also like heated seats too but that's not as important.

So, does anyone have experience of retrofitting PDC, is it easy enough to get an OEM kit fitted or are the many after market offerings just as good? Similarly for the heated seats, what are my options?

Didn't you get rid of your old E39 528 because you didn't like the fuel consumption??

Hope you enjoy the 540...

Sort of. I was using it every day for work. All stop start.

This car will now be used through the week for getting the wife to work, although at the mo she is off on maternity leave, and by us all on the weekends so it will be doing a lot less than 10k/year. That's how I'm justifying it anyway. It's currently doing 20.1 mpg. My previous 528 was showing 21 mpg!
