This morning decided to polish the car inside and out.Whilst I was doing this I had my radio on.It took me about two and a half hours. However when I came to start the car later on the battery was completley dead.I put the battery on charge for an hour and it started first time.We went out for a 20 mile drive this afternoon and everything seems ok.Ive just been out now and everything seems fine.Is this normal or do you think my battery is on its way out?

It can happen especially in 2.5 hrs. Probably a sign that the battery isn't 100% and will need replacement soon.

How old is the battery?

I dont actually know how old the battery is Ive only had the car 12 months. As you know the battery is in the boot so it looks in really good nick and is hard to tell the age of it.

Standard sound system or one of the optional ones? I had similar problems with the HK system in my 99 E46.
