Couple of E39 questions
Discussion
Hello all. I am a new E39 owner and have a couple of questions that I hope others can help me out with.
1) The service indicator has just gone down to the last green light...how long can I realistically expect this to last before it will need servicing (i.e before the amber light comes on)...and...
2) I will be looking for a couple of new rear tyres in a little while...I have read some reviews on here and there seems to be loads of different ones reccomended. Do any E39 owners have any particular tyres that they feel in their experience are better for the car?
Cheers!

The answer to your first question depends upon your driving style, ie short trip or longer ones. You may be lucky and get 1,000 miles, you may only get 550 if short trips or with a heavy foot.
Tyres....opening a can of worms. Quite simply stick to a well known brand and buy the best you can afford for the type of car you have.

Between 1000 and 4000 miles depending on your driving style.[quote]

Tyres; 520 or M5 or something in between? Are you mental or just bumble to the office? It'll make a difference.
Doesn't matter if you have a 520i or an M5, if you are doing 70 on the Motorway in the went and something goes badly wrong you want to stop PDQ. The right tyres matter.Gassing Station | BMW General | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
