Have an E91 with the all-so amazing Logic 7 system. Had a delay with a CD and after my fiddling, the system came on at 'FULL' volume. Reduced it back down immediately within a few seconds. Was unsure if it had damaged any speakers. Certainly when isolating each corner with fade/balance there was no problem. However I have not prev. inspected the subs under the seats but it is difficult to hear any obvious direct sound from these speakers. Wondering if anyone with Logic 7 or DSP Pro Sys could check their under-seat subs with some 'bassy' music to see if it is indeed quiet-ish in this area. Could I have possible 'popped' both speakers in those few seconds? Sorry for the essay but would be grateful if anyone with (or even without) L7 could comment.

If you play normal music, do you hear a lack of bass?

Surely that's the easiest way to tell.

It's hard to tell - you can start getting paranoid. The mid's can provide a 'reasonable' amount of bass.

No they can't. They cross over at around 200 hz so no bass at all from them.

Just reduce the treble completely up the bass and you will hear if the subs are not working.

Just wack the bass up full, the treble down low, chuck in some basement jax and wind it up.

If you don't feel it in your trousers it's broke.

Wouldn't it be a bit unusual to design a stereo that was powerful enough to damage he speakers at full pelt????

Remember that it's not volume itself that will blow a speaker, it's distortion - even at lower volumes. They should be absolutely fine.
