I have a strange issue with my new manual E90. With the handbrake on I still get about an inch of movement. The handbrake does not slip but the moment exist which is most apparent on any kind of slope.

Is this a feature or do I need to get it checked out?

Cheers

You could describe it as a 'feature' but one that BMW engineers have been unable to solve on both E46 & E90s rolleyes

It's a remnant of the drum in disc design, the pieces inside are pretty much loose, as they have a feature where movement makes them bite harder into the drum.
of the 2 half moon shoes in there, one side as the adjustor in it, the other has the expanding lock.
The side with the lock has 2 lugs sticking out of the hub which stops the shoes from being free to spin round, and its as they move into and hit the lugs, that you get the small roll.
