Ever since I took delivery of my 2007 E92 coupe a couple of months ago I've been coughing pretty much non stop when I'm in it and afterwards.

I know the car was sat on the dealers forecourt for some time prior to my buying it. I believe that once bacteria forms in a cars heating and ventilation system it can mutiply if the air conditioning isn't used regularly.

I had a similar problem with a VW Golf a few years ago (it gave me a runny nose and the inside of the car smelt of stale p*ss when the aircon was used) I took that car to an air conditioning specialist in Birmingham who sprayed an aerosol can of anti bacterial spray into the cars ventilation system.
It made the interior smell horribly "chemically" and it didn't fix the problem ! !

Any ideas where i can take my car in the Midlands to get this issue fixed once and for all ? it's ruining my enjoyment of the car !

Many thanks in advance

To get rid of the "hampster wee" smell, I've found that running it at max heat for about 15-20 mins whilst driving with the windows down usually does the trick. Worth giving it a go before spraying chemicals into the system.

Any reputable aircon place will be able to clean out your aircon system. (my indy does it free during the service)
