On a widescreen sat nav / tv, how do you turn on the radio? ( 2003 E46 ) I have pressed everything. Pressing the left hand control doesn't do it, or pressing FM. Do I need to be in TV or monitor off or something?
Mine is an e39, but the principles are the same, I think: left hand button, press to switch on the radio? Amber light just right of it lights up. Sounds like yours is mucking about, may need a reset?

I think you are right. Is it easy to reset or is it a dealer reset?
The cheap'n'cheerful way is to disconnect the battery for 20 mins or so, but worth being a bit cautious in case there's anything else connected to it that could be affected (hi-fi etc) & make sure it's unlocked. I'm not sure whether there's a theft code with the e46?
