Sorry folks, thinking of trading up from my 330ci sport '01 to an 8 series...

One very handy feature of the 330ci is the folding rear seats - allowing more boot space.

I know this is an exceptionally boring question and will not be the deciding factor for me, but I after a lot of the usual research, I can't seem to find out if the 8 series had this feature.

Any info would be appreciated and I will take any p*ss taking on the chin, so fire at will.

I was wondering the same thing before I bought mine !! The extra space is not critical for me so i didn't really care either way.

I have a '95 840Ci and the seats fold down BUT!!! Only to creat 2 flat loading places where the rear seats were! between the rear centre console. (Like a mercedes SL if that helps....?

The car does however have the ski hatch with the bag which give you an aperture about the size of a large shoe box to through load....

Behind the left rear seat is an amplifier for the ''up-graded'' stereo, So it *could* mean that without the stereo the seat might fold down but to be honest I doubt that's the case; They're too chunky to go flat.

HTH. - Nico.

ps. mine will be for sale as soon as I can find a Cherokee which fits my requirements...

The folding rear seats are an option on the 8-Series BUT it does not allow a through loading facility!! They fold to make a flat rear load area within the rear cabin. The only through loading facility is through the ski hatch behind the center backrest.
