After 12 years without a BMW, I've just bought myself a very nice E24 1985, one of the few in the country, needs very little work to make perfect. One thing is it needs to go back on to the Spider web BBS wheels.
Loads of these about here for the 7, either the E32 or earlier model, and I can buy them for less than I can sell the fancy aftermarket wheels currently on the car.
So save me some dirty checking work, will the 7 series wheel fit straight on the E24, (not an M so do not have/need the funny size wheels).

if you found a set from an e23 they may do, the e32's I think fit but not sure wheels from an e38 do. But check the offset if you can.

What type are fitted to yours? 15's, 16's or large 17's?

The current wheels are a more modern 15 inch 5 spoke.
The car is in Malaysia and the road tax is 800 pound a year, but next year I can get it road taxed as a classic car 25 years, for 200 pound, but it must be original, so I need to go back to the right wheels, and I need two other cars registered in my name, which I have. So its worth getting the car right and original. Replacement alloys are big business here, and I'm sure I can get more for the 5 spokes that the BBS's will cost.
There are two BMW Beakers in town so 'classic' bit are very cheap here. My thoughts/hopes were that the e23 will fit,
Great car had a E28 in the early 80's and a E32,in the early 90's always wanted E24 been after this one for two years, they are very rare here, this one was imported new, so never seen road salt, having month to enjoy it/find fault, then it off to R and J Classic cars in Sungei Boloh to be sorted, only potential big job is the ABS light flashes.

ABS light will probably be a dirty sensor on one of the wheel hubs, they get dirty and oily after a while.
