I have the option in investing in an upgrade to 08-1 DVD. How can I find out what I will get as 'new' item in this upgrade or can someone provide me a list. Welcome any feedback on this.

The 08-1 DVD (assuming it's the correct 'high' or 'professional' one for your satnav) is the first map issued in 2008.

There's no easy way to see what's new, as all they list is 'updated maps' and 'updated points of interest'.

The current maps are 09-1.

Don't buy the 09/1 as you can find it on the net and download it free, will take a couple of days with a standard connection though

Steve. I would like the latest, but have never had much luck with torrents.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also, My DVD widescreen in in a 2003 car. Do I just need this to update or do I need a software disk to update the nav too?
I don't think I have 7 digit postcode

I don't know if it's of interest but I have a genuine 2005 DVD which would work for you that I'd sell for a fair sum (call it £30?) which the dealer who sold me the car sent in error and now won't replace. I had to go on Ebay and buy the correct (CD-based) discs for my satnav, leaving this disc unused. Maybe not of any interest but if it is, do get in touch...

I have the 09/1 on my computer and I can do a disc for you but I'm not sure if it will work in an older system. It works fine in mine though.

I'm got a 2004 M3, can you please kindly make a disc for me for the satnav. I don't mind paying as long as it works. Cheers

Hi Steve, just bought a 2003 X5 with the satnav system....really frustrating without the post code application...please can you help me with this and give me the best possible option....price, time, risk to damaging the on board computor...

cheers,
Marc

Hi Guys,

Can someone confirm if the 09 disc version of the Pro Sat Nav now has full post code on it?

Mine only does part code, and it would be great to upgrade it to full code!

Thanks

As far as I'm aware, no; you can obtain navigation discs with 7 digit post-codes set-up as POIs - accessing is not straight forward though.

The postcode search is really annoying because sometimes it does not offer the final letters in the selection

for example you want CV32 9NR you can put in the CV32 9 and then it only offers a D or a T or a G etc and this is on a street that has been there longer than the disc has been updated
