Am taking the 335d to Europe tomorrow but just remembered that I need to do something with the lights.

Is it a manual thing or do I need a light bender thingy? I have done a search and not found anything concrete, and even google isn't helping!

anyone?

It's a manual thing - check your manual.

There is a lever you have to move. Tricky to find, and I don't think it is in all the manuals.

I found it after a search on the interweb thing.

The procedure should be in your manual.

However, it doesn't actually convert the lights for driving on the right, it just simply shutters off a part of the beam so that it doesn't blind oncoming traffic. Your night driving will be slightly compromised due to this.

I spent ages looking through the manual but will have another gander.

I am not planning on needing them as the car will be parked up for the weekend at the Gite, but knowing that there is less chance of being pulled over will be peace of mind.

It's now a legal requirement in France, whether you use the car or not. From July 2008.

I couldn't work it out as there was nothing in the manual.

Ended up plumping for eurolites stick on affair.

The 335d was beautiful, and didn't feel too tired after covering 450miles in a day.

Stretched the legs and hit what I guess it is limited to.

I used Eurolites as well, much easier.

Z4 was bearable but probably not the best car to do 500+ miles in a day.

Only managed 140mph before the traffic made me slow. Oh the shame...

the first couple of runs I did didn't make it all the way, but some stretches of the road between Rouen and Tours are dead straight so are perfect for really seeing an engine will do.

The annoying thing is that one of the Eurolites came off, on the passenger side, meaning that I had to drive through the rain with side lights and fogs on so that I wouldn't blind other drivers.
