Looking for possible solution to sorting a problem with my Air conditioning system. After working perfectly for the past 3 years the unit just stopped working last night. The fan doesn't operate at all on either manual or auto settings!

Living here in Marbella, Spain it's a necessity! Any advice would be appreciated!

Quite a common problem by all accounts (my E36 328 suffered too).

Quite a simple fix...

I can vouch for this, certainly worked for me: alternative would be eBay, they often turn up there.

Thanks Guys, your info is much appreciated!

Have No experience about doing the Electronics myself B17 but the extent of detail you've given me about replacing computer chips is amazing thanks.

I'll also check out Ebay etc thanks Mark.

Looking forward to being "Cool" again here in Marbella

I've seen a few E36 Computer Units for sale on Ebay eg: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine-BMW-E36-18-Button-OB...

Would I need anything else?

Thats the OBC not the Climate Control module.
The Climate is the one above the OBC in the dash, you have to remove the OBC to replace the Climate module that's why it's in the photos of that link.

You want this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Reconditioned-BMW-E36-3-Seri...

...although this is offered on an exchange basis hence only £30.

Just stick "E36 climate" in Ebay and you can find loads.
