I have just picked up a Z4 '05 plate from a dealer with a leather interior.

Is it worth getting the Supaguard/Scotchguard exterior and interior protection package from the dealers for around £300 ?

Spend the money on a good detail once a year instead - or get it detailed and then put ventureshield/paintshield film on!

£300 is too much, but the product itself is good as it keeps the car looking factory fresh and shiny.

Product costs the dealer about ten quid.

Rip off city.

Don't bother - keep the car clean and waxed.

Costs a lot more than that when you factor everything in

Like what? Charging out an acned scrote to spray it on at 100 quid an hour when he earns minimum wage?

£300 isn't worth it.

You have 3 options af far as I see it:

a) Do nothing, save £300.
b) Take the car to a detailer, and have it corrected and sealed - possibly a little bit more than £300
c) Spend <£300 on detailing products, read Detailing World, and give it a shot

I picked option C - as I had 2 months off after Uni when I bought the Z4, and spent a couple of midweek days prepping and detailing it. Much more satisfying I must say.

However once I started work, I generally only gave it good (1 hour) clean & dry every other weekend (although I don't drive it much).

I was definitely looking at getting it detailed at some point, so that is option I will be going with. Hope to get it detailed and then sealed/protected when I can get some time in between work etc.

Its going to be my daily drive doing 60 miles per day ....

If you get it professionally detailed you will not need to seal it, they will put on a wax that keeps it protected.
You then need to simply wash over it every week, no more than 10 minutes and it will look great, do that once every year and you're laughing.

What is the point of protecting it before it has been detailed?? It probably needs some sort of correction anyway, you don't want to seal a load of small scratches in.
