Have any of the usual suspects produced one of these yet?

E.G. The 4.4 litre twin turbo V8 from the X6/7 series, slotted into a 3 series chassis. It would deliver 30mpg and 500bhp, and be a fantastic sleeper car. Probably wouldn't be *too* expensive to do either.

Sounds like it could be fun. Been musing over some forced induction for my E38 740, though I think I'll be hanging fire for now as I've plenty to be getting on with, and doing an engine build later in the year with a spare engine if I can get one for sensible money.

In a 3 series I can see it being a bit loopy

I don't think this will happen, not unless the M3 gets a fairly hefty power boost. I would say far more likely to happen in the bigger models, there is more room there.

Yeah, I know it's really unlikely BMW will do it, but I was wondering about Hartge or another one of the established tuners doing it.
