Any idea how much a regas is? Mine's not as cold as it could be.

I get mine done as part of the regular BMW service schedule (at an Indy, mind) but I reckon you'd get it done for about fifty nicker.

I paid £65 for a regas just recently. The service was was excellent and the guy was a fellow car enthusiast. Probably doesn't cover the OP geographically but anyone in West and Northwest London I'd recommend him.

A friend of mine tried Kwik Fit, recently; £25 & was pleasantly surprised - did the job, they tested it first & didn't try & sell him any mud+snow tyres! (e39 M5)

Anyone else use Kwik-Fit? My A/C in the 330Ci isn't as cold as it could be (as I discovered this past week with the particularly warm weather) and so I'm willing to give it a go but would prefer to hear from at least one other happy customer...

I used Kwik fit before in my old Peugeot and it turns out I had a leak (it went from cold to hot again within 24 hours) and they didn't check for it. I paid £45 for a regas (not advertised as vaccumm and pressure test admittedly). I'm no lentalist but this doesn't sound very environmentally friendly to me.

The guy I used a few days back vaccumed the system, talked me through the process and was able to confirm no leaks and fill with correct amount of refrigerant and oil. Plus he came to my work. Worth the extra money un my opinion.

I was gob-smacked! Last time I crossed their threshold I apparently needed 4 new shocks & two new tyres...in spite of my new MOT & only going in for tracking check - not been back to the charalatans since... rolleyes But he was adamant, £25, job done right! Not sure which Kwik Fit, guessing Bournemouth area, & I've not asked him if it's still OK...

I paid £90 for a full re-gas at my BMW specialist. Not sure what I got for the extra money but it does work instantly now, the gurgling from behind the dash has stopped and the compressor no longer sounds like the bearing is failing.
