My mum's one's broken, the hood was in perfectly good working order when she bought it nine years ago, but ever since she put an immobilizer in, it doesn't work. Someone tried to fix it, got the hood working, but after switching off the ignition, the hood wouldn't work the next time.

Anyone know where/how to fix this?

any way to do it keeping the immobilizer?

Or is the immobilizer simply the problem?

The immobiliser per say is probably not the issue, the way it has been wired into the car may well be the problem.

Yeah, we took the immobilizer out (or rather the mechanic that charged £1200 not to fix it) and the hood still didn't work.

It's electrical then? The guy who installed it messed up the electrics?

Without seeing it it is difficult to say that, but it could be mechanical, the rods that operate the roof can break as can the motor spindal,

A simple thing like the boot not closing fully or the mechanism not recognising that the boot is closed will prevent the roof from operating.
