Lowing a E46 318i Touring, please help

I've just bought a 318i touring and am very pleased with it overall, but it rides a bit high and would like to lower it, thinking of going down the M-sport suspension route, but would like to know which parts are different from the standard suspension setup, is it just the springs or shocks too.
I know I could just go down the lowering spring route, but if I could keep all BMW parts I prefer it, mostly for the insurance side.
Has anyone got a rough idea how much it would cost for the parts and labour?
