I recently bought a 330Ci which has the RDC tyre pressure monitor fitted. Now I didn't know at the time that BMW have been using two different types of TPMs - one which uses the ABS/DSC sensors (nice and simple) and one which actually has sensors fitted in each wheel which require special valves etc. Mine has the second type and it started playing up.

I really don't want to have to think about these sensors when I have tyres fitted, put new alloys on the car etc. etc. so I just had normal valves fitted and the sensors removed as the old valves were corroded anyway. This inevitably caused problems with the system and the dash display now shows up red constantly and it beeps as the system thinks there is a problem, which I expected. I just want to get the RDC system disabled and I believe this needs to be coded into the car. Is this correct? Has anyone done this and can let me know what needs to be done?

Thanks

It can be coded out, but you'll need someone with a GT1 / OPS type dealer diag tool

Thanks for that. If anyone has one and is around the Windsor/Reading area, I will happily pay for some beer tokens if they wouldn't mind hooking it up and coding it out? Otherwise I'll give my friendly Indy a call and see if they have the right type of Diagnostic Tool.
