BMW 535d - front parking light failure

Got this message on the car but the bulb is fine. A couple of time I hit the light a few taps and the side light came on, but the error came up again about 10 mins later with the side light off.

A new bulb might not fix it therefore - any ideas?

Had 5 bulbs go in the last 20months, and have had to have a new bulb holder assembly ordered for my '57 525d. Will let you know when it goes in to get fixed if the new bulb lasts more than 4 months!!

I have got exactly the same problem but the problem comes and goes, I took it into to BMW they changed the bulb holder and bulb which seemed to fix it, I got in the car the next morning, pressed start and "left parking light failure" popped up again! I phoned BMW they couldn't get me booked in for a fortnight and it hasn't done it since! Really annoying!
