Just ordered a new M 135i.
Discussion
So its been a long time in coming but I have just arrived back from Knights BMW having just ordered what I believe to be a very nice little package indeed. I am without M Power for teh future but I think its a good compromise for work and fun.
The Spec I went for is as follows:
E82 135i M Sport Coupe
Alpine White
Black Boston Leather
18" Double-spoke style 261M alloy wheels
Ext. mirrors - folding, auto dimming for reverse park
Seat heating
Brushed aluminium trim with accent
Headlight wash
Xenon headlights with LED rears
Cruise control
Navigation Professionall with 80GB hard drive and HD screen
BMW ConntectedDrive - Assist
BMW ConntectedDrive - Online
Voice Control
Bluetooth phone prep + telematics
Loudspeaker system - LOGIC7 Professional with surround sound and subs under front seats
M Steering wheel with controls
High gloss showline exterior trim
Headlining Anthracite
BMW Performance Carbon rear spoiler and BMW Performance exhaust will be added upon delivery by the dealer.
To say I am happy is an understatement. I went on the hunt for a second hand one but there were only 2 available in the country and the didn't really have the spec I wanted. I basically ticked all the boxes apart from front park assist as I can park a car without the need for front sensors (rears come as standard)and the electric memory seats. I will be the only driver, its quicker to adjust using leavers and I think I added enough weight to the car already.

Very nicely spec'd car.
.... But £35K for a one series - ouch!
I'm sure it will be fantastic though!
you know they are not that far off an e92 M3 in performance? not bad money in that sense. i'd have a CSL for 25k if it were me though..... But £35K for a one series - ouch!

Lucky you, looks like a great spec. I'm loving my 123d.
Check out www.babybmw.net if you haven't already.

Hopefully though he did his homework and hasn't paid anything close to £35k for it. .... But £35K for a one series - ouch!
A 135i Coupe is going to be my next car, but it's probably going to have to be the end of the year for me, so gives me plenty of time to do my homework.
Like the OP, I'd prefer to get nearly new, but I'd want an auto aswell, plus the heated leccy seats, although not the Nav system, but there as just so few around anyway, let alone in the right spec/colour/seat colour (don't want black interior) etc that I too will have to consider buying new.
Thanks for the responses guys.
@ Philmots, I am seriously considering some DMS treatment once I have run it in proplery, I am nervous about the extra heat in the engine though so will need to do my homework. The BMW remap includes a larger radiator and thats on with a 20hp increase. Is this essential or, will BMW not offer more performance due to it probably being quicker than an e90/e92 M3?
@W1TAK, I did seriously consider the red leather but I don't want the car to be too flash and I love the all black interior of BMW's in the past. Its part of the reason I love them so thats where my decision came from. The Red would look lovely though I am sure
@Autotrader, I considered a CSL but with running costs at over £3.5k per year for me that works out a £300 per month before you even consider the repayment on a 28K loan. Thats slightly out of my reach unfortunately.
@Ecurie Ecosse thanks for the link I will certainly take a look at that
@Polarbert, I am not looking at this purchase in terms of an end figure. With 35K I could probably afford to buy a 355 but it would have miles on it, wouldn't necessarily have a 60,000 mile warranty and would cost more to fuel, service, tax etc etc.
@aeropilot, I looked a second hand ones, there were two in the UK last week on BMWs site. Believe it or not, buying new works out cheaper as the Finance APR rate is so much lower, you can have a brand new car with full warranty and the spec you want which is why I decided to order new. I had no intention of buying a brand spanker when I walked into the showroom. Its not about being a sucker to the salesmen either, I work in sales so I know the game, this is a deal that I am more than happy with so didn't feel the need to barter. They gave me a good discount and I am trading in an e34 525i tourer which I paid £1500 quid for 2 years ago. Given that I am getting nearly £3k for it I am happy
