Z4 wing mirror glass falling off...

So, I'm driving along and look in the passenger side wing mirror, looks like its vibrating massively. Pull over and the glass has all but fallen off, so I pull it off and put some no more nails on the glass and stick it on. Weird I think.

Tonight, driving along the M56 and drivers side is doing the same. It has come loose to the point of falling off and needs the same treatment. Having looked at the back of the mirror glass, i dont see how it was stuck on in the first place!

If they are heated mirrors they heater matrix is like double sided selotape

Stick the heater to the Housing; stick the mirror to the heater.

If it is not heated then it will use a double side sticky pad to stick it to the housing.

Mine fell out but thankfully the heating wire held it on enough.

You need to lock the mirror in place with the rotating collar. Two lugs on the back of the glass go into the recesses and then you use a piece of coathanger to hook the tab at the top and rotate the collar locking the lugs in place.

They seem to vibrate loose after time.

They are heated... but i stuck them back on with no more nails on a roll. I guess they arent heated anymore!
