Hi i got a e46 318ci, was just wondering if i could put a sat nav/tv system in it from another e46, would the correct wiring harness be there already? Is there a visual line in for this? As the e39 has a reverse camera but i want a dvd player, if this system cannot play dvds

Don't really understand your post, but I do know that the DVD drive in the e46 is only for the nav dvd discs and does not play standard dvds.

Retrofitting the nav is possible, something I looked into a few years ago before changing my car. There's a kit from BMW you can buy otherwise there was a bloke on fleabay who would supply it all for you at a relatively (compared to stealers) good price.

You will need a new loom, nav computer in the boot and screen up front.

The system does NOT play DVD.

Loom involves taking most of the interior out. Took me about 12 hours to fit the system. It's not hard, just takes time.

If you are asking could you retrofit the tv/Sat Nav system from another e46 then yes you should be able to. I've seen pictures of someone doing it though and it looks like quite a hassle. You have to move all the heating controls down if I remember right.
