Hi guys.If I disconnect the MAF whilst the car is running what should happen if the MAF is functioning properly?

The car will probably stumble, then go back to idling.
It'll still drive too, but maybe with lower mpgs.

MAF detects the amount of cold air coming through your intake. The car will still run, but not at its optimum BHP. This sensor tells the fuel management system how much fuel to input against how much cold air for best combustion. No major problems, you just won't get the best out of your car.

As above really. Without it the car will run with a default setting which, as stated will cause it to run, badly.

I disconnected my MAF to see if it was at fault & the car ran wonderfully. I then knew a new MAF was needed, problem solved
