Sat Nav - using UK post codes

The business SatNav on my 520D drives me crazy in that I can't find a way to do a new destination based on the full 6 digit UK post code....it seems to only allow only 4 digits and rely on you entering the street name. However a lot of destinations (e.g. venues) don't have a street, they're off a main road which makes it really inaccurate. Anyone found a way around this ?

Upgrade the nav? I just did mine on my 2003 E46. Latest software and map disc and I now have full UK postcode function. Only cost £30.

As far as I know, BMW do not offer full 7 digit post-code search on their genuine map discs. However you can certainly obtain non genuine discs which offer 7 digit postcode search via the POI - at least you can for E39/E46/E53/E85 navigation systems; I'm less familar with the E60 range. Worth having a look on ebay to see what's available.

I picked up a disc with the full postcodes set as POI. It's not a great system, but it does help.
