Does anyone on here find them uncomfortable? I don't find them uncomfortable at all however my brother insists he does confused

As in he doesn't want to do a 30 minute journey in the 3 as the seats are uncomfortable ! Personally I think he is being a little bh about it. He drives an E39 5 sport, perhaps he is just used to them..
He is 5"7 and around 15 stone, so yeah a tad obese.

Anyone else find these seats really umconfortable? Or is it a case of being a little bh ?

Any time I've been in one I've found them comfortable enough. I guess he is just moaning haha.

Leather will be a tad more uncomfortable than fabric but not to warrent his reasoning.

For a while I was doing a 2 hour 1 way commute and may have got a sore bum from it but I would have expected that from any car, but the rest of me was fine.

My normal daily commute is 40 mins each way.

I never found them uncomfortable, but I bet the side bolsters dig in a bit when you are of a 'bigger build' wink

whilst i never found the sports seats in my 330ci uncomfortable they starngely seemed a lot harder than my 530d seats (albeit comfort jobbies). That said i covered nearly a 1000 miles in a few days in the 330 and certainly had no complaints about the sports seats

I like the sports seats and find them comfortable. I wouldn't let him in the car on the basis that his girth is likely to ruin the side bolsters. wink

Nope found mine very comfortable, love the electric bolsters. Maybe a bit more time setting them up required??

Electric bolsters? I've a 330Ci with M Sport seats and don't remember having electric bolsters (though could be wrong - I've not messed around much with the seats other than fore and aft).

I find the Sport seats so much more comfy than the ones on my old 'SE'. They're firmer (which is a good thing in my book) and you're held in place better. With the SE ones I was sliding all over the place. I suffer neck problems and do about 400 miles a week and the Sports seats are much better for me. The biggest aid for me is being able to 'extend' the seat so you have support right behind your knees. The seats on my SE seemed really short.

I think the electric bolsters are a fairly new gizmo... they were certainly on a '58 320d Sport I borrowed a few months back. I found them excellent and would definately be on my wish list if I were to buy a newer Sport.

One of my biggest gripes with my e46 M3 cab was the lack of seat comfort. Cab has different seats to the coupe tho'

Have now got Comfort Seat option on my new car which is great having used them on a 5er.

I never found them uncomfortable in my old E46. Quite liked them, perhaps I was just the right size for them?

I've never found mine uncomfortable either. I do a 5 hour solid run from Guildford to Yorkshire most months and can quite happily sit in them for that duration without any discomfort. I have the suede and fabric and not the leather as well. I find these a lot more comfortable.

I think the seats are one of the best parts of my E46, love em to bits and will probably miss them the most if/when I ever change it.
I'm still surprised at getting out after long journeys completely fresh.

Mine operates off a switch on the front bottom right (on the drivers side opposite on passengers). Either tighten up or loosen off after a huge sunday dinner. Brilliant
