boots and roofs

Just picked up cheap a E46 330ci,needs a near side door mirror if some one got one! A very good clean and some paint on the front bumper,the wheels could do with a tidy up but good tyres,18" avons nearly new.Because it came without any paper work I would like to know can you opean the boot lid when the roof is down, it opeans OK when the roof is up,or is this why it was cheap!
