I saw a topic about drving in france but didn't want to hijack it with my query. I've got xenons on the 740iL and will be going to france next week. Can you just use the normal beam adjusters or is there a way of aligning the xenons for continental Europe? Only reason I ask is I think I read on here there was a simple switch to change the alignment. Any ideas?

Vauxhall/Opel factory Xenons have a switch on the lighting unit that changes the direction of the flick. I'm pretty sure BMW would have something similar as BM and Opel seem to have similar ideas on how things work.

Is there anything mentioned in the owner's manual?

Z4s have a switch next to the headlamp which you flick up/down. This moves a shield across part of the beam to stop dazzling. I'm sure other BMWs will have something similar.

BTW, make sure the lights are turned off before putting your hand anywhere near the Xenon units.

Yeah the Z4 had a flap in the wheel arch that gives access to the light area - maybe something similar on yours?
