E46 no heater fan
Discussion
Hi Guys
Yesterday I tried to use my HVAC controls wacked the fan up to max and there was nothing no noise or movement or more importantly no air.
I think it may be the fuse (i will check at lunch today) as I dont hear the ventilation system closing when I turn the car off anymore.
Does a fuse sound likely?
Thanks
Glen

If not the fuse, it could be the heater resistor pack.
My E46 had that part replaced by BMW a few months before I bought it, and I believe its a common issue (not just with BMWs, but the resistor pack is a common issue preventing the heater fan from operating on many cars).
Mind you, our 120D did the same thing and the local specialist stripped it down to check, and then put it back together so we could have the car back whilst they ordered the part. By some fluke, when they put it all back together, it started working again, so they just gave us the car back and wouldn't take any money from us. They (like us) probably thought it would break again, but it was still working fine when we sold the car a year later.
I think the resistor pack is fairly easy to replace yourself, and seem to be about £30 on eBay.
