bmw m3 1999 evo manual softop engine idles at 2k problem

hi guys i just bought a the abouve mentioned car, already i have a problem with it, when you start the car the revs shoot up to 2000rpm and stay there, took it to a garage the put it in diagnostics its saying faulty idle valve and 2x injectors not sure but lets say 2 & 4, they repalaced idle valve and not injectors, still the same, took ecu out sent it away for testing, after 5 days of testing and extensive testing they sent it back the ecu saying no faults found! now the garage is saying after a 2nd and 3rd opinions from bmw technicians they say its the ecu? can any one help? i have just joined piston heads forums so not sure how it works exactly? or wether i can come back and find any repies LOL! so here is my email address is [e-mail], any sugestions any one? tnx jake

replace the air mass sensor b 4 you do anything else . i would say either idle control valve (which u have tried) or the air mass sensor . you can pick them up for about £50-£150 but try b 4 you buy only 2 jublie clips to take off
